wow, how long as it been? well at least it's not 2009. i don't know what's compelling me to write in this; nothing really, despite the fact that i haven't in a really long time. this summer has been surprisingly good even though i haven't seen my boyfriend in 6 weeks, the longest we've been apart in our almost year and a half relationship, but i see him on Thursday so i'm pretty stoked. i have an internship with the FAA which is going great, although i don't think government (federal or state) is the place for me. i have been having very small panic attacks lately about trying to figure out where i'll be and what i'll be doing after graduation, which is this year. so crazy to think about.
but otherwise, this summer has been teen TV drama filled! me and natalie are catching jenna up on Dawson's Creek from the very beginning of the show, which has been awesome because Dawson's Creek is amazing. we have been re-living the late 90s and early 2000s and reminiscing about some of the priceless fashion it had to offer. also, i always wanted to watch gossip girl while it was on TV but was never able to (i was still in class on Mondays at 8 pm) and i don't have DVR despite the fact that we're paying for it... anyway, point is that i wasn't able to watch it while it was on TV. BUT i have gotten into the show this past week and am almost finished the season and my GOD is it amazingly addicting. it's so good!!!!! i really didn't expect it. and whatever. i am not ashamed to say that.
i've also been to DC twice so far this summer, and both trips have been really fun. i go back next week to see Glenn, which will also be a blast!!!
i'm not going to boston this weekend, but it's alright. i'll use the time to catch up on my fading tan, my family and finishing gossip girl. i'm excited. |

i don't really know where i am in my life at all. i feel like i'm just floating through, without a purpose. i know that this is normal for this "stage" and time in my life, but not to the extent i feel it or why i'm feeling it. seeing the fathers this weekend didn't really make me miss mine, well no i'm lying, i can't really describe it. i missed him when i saw the pictures. the pictures always make me cry. and i keep rehashing that day... and then i don't remember much of the rest of the summer. i feel incomplete (normal), pissed off, mad, all of that. but surprisingly i don't feel it now. maybe i really should go to councling??? i never really believed in it (didn't help me senior year), but what are your thoughts?
other than that life's been pretty spectacular, i must say. good grades, great friends, great city, great times. this is exactly what i wanted when i came to college and i'm so glad i finally found a place and am happy.
i miss my friends from home but i've been keeping in good contact with them. what am i doing this summer? home or philly? more than likely home. but that's ok, i think i would enjoy that more anyway. home is good for the week and philly for weekends. although home is also good for weekends... hmm. and natalie. home is good for natalie (seeing her).
if natalie is reading this (which she probably isn't!) COME TO DC TO SEE GIRL TALK! EVEN IF MICAH'S NOT COMING! visit meeeeeee. i don't think i can get home before thanksgiving because of school/band. I MISS YOU. i need more natalie in my life in DC. ok if you want me to plea more (which you probs do) i'll call you. but i'll call you anyway cause i want to talk to you baby girl!
i'm really writing this because i don't want to study textiles. but now i'm starting to feel guilty so let me get back to it. i didn't like this entry k byee! |

SO since i have absolutly NOTHING to do at work, because they are in the middle of this huge move and re-organization (great time to intern allyson), i am looking up artists on atlantic and capital records, two future record companies i would love to be a part of. i figure that there's hardly any money in small, independent labels, as cool as it would be to work for one of them i don't think there's much room for advancement or a long-term career. i've actually researched this a bit earlier this summer, by looking up a whole bunch of small labels (Saddle Creek, Fat Possum Records, Merge, The Elephant Six, etc.) and they all look really cool, but i dunno. maybe i'll change my mind.

what to write! this weekend i saw Pirates with Jenna, Stu, Nate, George, and a whole bunch of other people i didn't know. there were 28 of us in total, it was so awesome. as me, jenna and stu drove to the theatre we waved a flag with a skull and crossbones on it (that they painted, i made my own little one) and the car behind us took so many pictures of us because we ruled so hard! it was pretty cool. saturday was ok, me, stu, natalie, jenna, micah, mike, his friend from home ariele, zack and riley went to the boardwalk. it was alright. then a bunch of people went over mike's but i went home because i was really tired/not in a great mood. sunday we went to habachi and then to micah's and hung out. overall it was a pretty good weekend.
now i'm sitting in the office freezing my ass off because for some reason they seem to love to keep it below zero in here and piss off their administration. smart move, guys. |

oh and i came up with this great idea for the wall next to my bed next year! i saw these really cool hollow plastic squares at urbanoutfitters.com that you could arrange in any way you wanted, and paint them different colors too. only problem is they were charging $42 for a few pieces of plastic and adhesive. uh, what?
so i looked around at AC Moore to try and find something similar, but to my dismay, they had no such thing.
so i searched the internet for some plastic as well. again, i didn't find anything, but i came up with a great idea in the process. i'm going to get these tiny tiles or mirrors (i haven't decided which yet) of all different sizes and paint them on my own (so i'm in control of the colors, i like that) and arrange them in a really cool design on my wall. it's going to be so good!!! i'm so excited, i can't wait. |
